Members of the Manifesto Implementation Unit (MIU), accompanied by the Malawi Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) and officials from Rumphi District Council, this week conducted a monitoring visit to a MEPA-funded environmental management project being implemented by the Council in Chiweta, Rumphi District.

The visit provided an opportunity to assess the progress of the project and appreciate its impact on the lives of local communities.

The team interacted with beneficiaries and witnessed firsthand the positive changes resulting from the initiative.

The monitoring exercise highlighted how the project is not only contributing to environmental restoration and sustainable natural resource management but is also improving the livelihoods of community members.

Beneficiaries shared how the interventions have enhanced environmental stewardship while creating opportunities for increased resilience and sustainable development.

MEPA remains committed to ensuring that environmental investments translate into tangible benefits for communities, while advancing the country's environmental conservation and sustainable development agenda.
